Dashboard Confessional Biography
Led by singer/songwriter Christopher Carrabba, Dashboard Confessional took root in Boca Raton, Florida, Carrabba’s home since the age of 16. Known for their skill in penning deeply and unabashedly emotional songs, the band debuted in 2000 with the release of The Swiss Army Romance.
2001’s The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most features the single, “Screaming Infidelities,” which found an immediate home on modern rock radio. A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar came out in 2003, featuring another hit single, “Hands Down,” which peaked at #8. The album also features “Vindicated,” which rose to #2 and was featured in 2004’s Spider-Man 2 soundtrack.
The band’s 2006 release, Dusk and Summer, entered the Billboard charts at #2, followed by their fifth album, The Shade of Poison Trees, in 2007, and Alter the Ending in 2009. After celebrating their 10th anniversary, the band took a nearly decade-long hiatus before returning in 2017.
The group’s most recent contributions include Crooked Shadows in 2018, and their 2020 greatest hits collection, The Best Ones of the Best Ones, with 20 of their top songs, celebrating their decades of emotion-filled, timeless tracks including “We Fight” and “Heartbeat Here.”
