What is a Food Forest? 

A food forest, also called a forest garden, is a diverse planting of edible plants that attempts to mimic the ecosystems and patterns found in nature; cultivation techniques traditionally used to support our local food security.

Guest speakers and native plant producers will share:

• What a Food Forest is and how it relates to our ecosystems
• How Food Forests benefit food security
• Propagation techniques for our local plants
• Local native plants for your garden or forest
• How to create your own Food Forest
• Opportunities to volunteer
• POTLUCK LUNCH – bring something to share
