What is a Food Forest?
A food forest, also called a forest garden, is a diverse planting of edible plants that attempts to mimic the ecosystems and patterns found in nature; cultivation techniques traditionally used to support our local food security.
Guest speakers and native plant producers will share:
- What a Food Forest is and how it relates to our ecosystems
- How Food Forests benefit food security
- Propagation techniques for our local plants
- Local native plants for your garden or forest
- How to create your own Food Forest
- Opportunities to volunteer
