10:00amRebarchek Farm
The session is one of three between now and October, all part of our growing vision as Rebarchek Farm being a living classroom for sustainable food systems in Alaska.
What to Expect:
We follow a simple format—Prep, Learn, Apply:
- Prep: We’ll start with light weeding and mulch maintenance to help care for our growing food forest.
- Learn: You’ll get a practical intro to the food forest model: what it is, how it mimics natural ecosystems, and why it works—especially in Alaska.
- Apply: We’ll finish by planting and revitalizing a few key layers of the food forest—trees, shrubs, and ground covers—in both a freshly cleared area and existing zones already in development.
Come ready to get your hands in the soil and walk away with new skills and a vision for growing food that works with nature, not against it—skills you can take home and apply to your own land, garden, or homestead.
Looking Ahead:
While we won’t be running a full summer series this year, we’re planning this August event, one in September and one October 4th, to build momentum and gather interest for a full volunteer-powered education series launching in 2026. Now’s a great time to get involved early.
