Poultry General Information
Fairgrounds Entry Only – Craig Taylor Farm Exhibits
Vet Check and Entry:
• 1st Entry: Tuesday, August 22, 4 – 8:30 pm, Division 1, 2, and 3
• 2nd Entry: Tuesday, August 29, 4 – 8:30 pm, Division 4, 5, 6, 7, and 4-H
Poultry Pick Up:
• 1st Entry Pick-up: Monday, August 28, 6 – 8:30 pm
• 2nd Entry Pick-up: Monday, September 4, 6 – 8 pm
Entries without entrant contact/mailing information will be automatically disqualified and not judged.
4-H Entries are accepted during second entry only. Please see the 4-H Exhibitor Guide for more information.
Enter up to two entries per class; enter each bird in only one class. Reserve pens by August 20 using a Pen and Cage Request Form. Enter class on entry forms by designating breed, sex, and age of bird. Groom birds for entry.
Poultry will be housed in Fair’s assigned cages. Reservations are limited to 12 cages per family and will be held until 7 pm on entry date.
A veterinarian at the north door of Farm Exhibits will check all birds during entry times. Those that are unhealthy or have parasites will be rejected. Daily poultry care provided by herdsmen.
Judging follows the American Poultry Association’s Standard of Perfection. Enter class on entry form by designating breed (class) and sex and age of bird (subclass). Example: In Division 01 Standard Chicken, a Jersey Giant Cockerel, less than one year would be entered as 03, A)
