MEGADETH

Credited as one of the pioneering bands of thrash metal, MEGADETH has been a major force in heavy music for more than four decades. Since forming in 1983, the band has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, earned a Grammy Award and 12 additional nominations, generated billions of streams, and landed seven Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200. Signature songs from across the band’s career include “Wake Up Dead,” “Peace Sells,” “Symphony of Destruction” and “Dystopia.”

The band’s catalog includes Peace Sells… But Whos Buying?, ranked #8 on Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time,” as well as the platinum Rust in Peace and the double-platinum Countdown to Extinction, which reached #2 on the Billboard 200.

More recent releases have continued that momentum: Dystopia debuted in the Top 3 and won the Grammy for Best Metal Performance for its title track, while 2022’s The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! also debuted at #3 and earned a Grammy nomination for “We’ll Be Back.”

MEGADETH, featuring founder Dave Mustaine on lead vocals and guitar, alongside guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, bassist James LoMenzo and drummer Dirk Verbeuren, released its 17th full-length offering, MEGADETH, earlier this year.
