We’ve Got Gamer Contests!

You can’t deny that gaming is more popular than EVER! We’ve got THREE video game-related contests this year – for Minecraft, Fortnite, and Among Us! Here are the details:

HOW DO YOU ENTER?

Starting at 11am when the gates open for the Fair, follow the instructions for the contest of the day. All daily gamer contests end at 4pm Alaska Time.

For every contest, make sure you:

1. Take a photo or video of the character, box, cut out, or other object as specified for the contest. If you can be in the photo as well, all the better. (If you are under 18, you must have your parent’s permission to post your photo).

2. Post the photo or video to your Instagram or TikTok account with the hashtag #AKFairGamer. Make sure you follow and also tag @officialalaskastatefair on Instagram or @alaskastatefair on TikTok so your entry counts!!

Please keep your photo or video G-rated and appropriate for all ages. Any inappropriate entries will immediately be disqualified.

DEADLINE FOR PHOTO SUBMISSIONS IS 4PM EACH DAY, You have 5 hours to enter the contest and complete all steps!

At 4:30pm, we will pull the winner or winners randomly from the entries we receive and contact you through direct message on Instagram or TikTok. If we cannot reach you within 15 minutes, we may pick another winner.

The official hashtag of these contests are #AKFairGamer. You must also follow and tag @officialalaskastatefair on Instagram or @alaskastatefair on TikTok so we can see your entry and contact you if you win. No entries after 4:00pm Alaska Time will be accepted on contest days. We are not responsible for entries that are not properly tagged.

Please Note: The objects you need to find and photograph or videotape for each contest will be placed in safe and fully public locations that DO NOT require climbing to see them or photograph them. Do not climb on anything to document the object. Use your camera zoom if it is far away or high up. Do not trespass to staff-only areas. Anyone seen climbing anything or trespassing to participate in a contest will instantly be disqualified and may be asked to leave the Fairgrounds if endangering others.

ADDITIONAL RULES 

You must be either 18 years of age or older to participate on your own or if you are under 18, you must be accompanied by an adult at all times as you search for the contest objects. 

If you are under 18 and enter the contest, you must get parental permission to participate. If you are under 18 and win the contest, we will ask for proof of permission from your parent or legal guardian.

You must be present at the Fairgrounds on the contest days to participate BUT you do not have to be present to win. Only entries submitted on each contest day will be accepted between 11am and 4pm Alaska Time.

If you win, you are responsible for picking up your prize prior to the end of the Fair and no later than 5pm on 9/5. The prizes will be available at the official Alaska State Fair office in the blue Craftsman Building. Be prepared to show an ID and/or your Instagram or TikTok account on your smartphone to prove your identity. Only the winner, or their parent or legal guardian, is able to pick up the prize and must have verifiable proof of identity or relationship to the prize winner.

Alaska State Fair reserves the right to withhold any prize if in doubt about the validity of the identity of the claimant.

There are no further prizes available for this contest. Participants in this contest accept all responsibility for their own safety.

RESTRICTIONS 

Contestants will be instantly disqualified if they:

• Enter a restricted area of the Fair.
• Climb on any object at the Fair that is not meant to be climbed.
• Endanger themselves or others.
• Try to dislodge or damage any contest object that is not to be collected and only photographed or videotaped.
• Behave in a manner that is inappropriate for the Fair.
• Use the contest as an excuse for behaving in any inappropriate manner.
• Submit content that is inappropriate.
• Break any rule of the contest.
• Alaska State Fair reserves the right to disqualify any contestant who cheats or otherwise tries to manipulate the contest parameters.

Remember to use the hashtag #AKFairGamer when you post your Alaska State Fair game contests on Instagram or TikTok. You must also follow and tag @officialalaskastatefair on Instagram and @alaskastatefair on TikTok to qualify and to be notified if you win..

2022 FORTNITE Saturday, August 27

Description: No need to Crank 90s for this one! Find the TWO (2) Llama cut outs around the fairgrounds and document your find on Instagram or TikTok!

RULES: Take a photo or video. Post to Instagram and tag @OfficialAlaskaStateFair on Instagram . OR post a video on TikTok and tag @AlaskaStateFair. Use #AKFairGamer hashtag to make it easier for us to find. At our discretion we will RANDOMLY pick TWO (2) winners at random from the entries tagging us and using the hashtags!
