State why you wish to serve on the Board of Directors.
The Alaska State Fair is an essential gathering place for the people of South Central Alaska and for others throughout the State. As a showcase for agriculture, manufacturing, resource development, entertainment and cultural themes, the Alaska State Fair is a multi-faceted experience which broadens the knowledge base of all who attend and I want to ensure this experience continues to be available and enriches the lives of Alaskans and our visitors. As a member of the Board of Directors I can help assure resources are properly allocated to maintain and enhance the quality of the Alaska State Fair.

How long have you been a member of the Alaska State Fair?
This is my first year as a member of the Alaska State Fair. I was not aware that being a member was an option until recently.
How have you participated in the Fair in the past?
Fairgoer for 25 years, vendor for 6 years, exhibitor twice, frequent attendee and coordinator of events staged on fair property.
Summarize what you value most about the Fair. State your specific areas of interest.
The Alaska State Fair has a wide and multi-faceted array of opportunities to meet other people, experience multiple cultures, learn about happenings in our state, and expose our youth to an enormous variety of activities. The Fair is a success because of its broad appeal and variety of venues. I most recently enjoy the diversity of offerings and try not to focus on any particular venue.
What is your vision for the Fair, and do you have specific goals?
The Alaska State Fair must continue to expand the opportunities to encourage and display a diverse array of cultural activities, products, lifestyles and professions. Continued growth in making Alaska State Fair facilities available for different groups in the community is an important source of revenue for the Fair and an important way for the Fair to continue to showcase its value to the community. I intend to encourage the continued steady growth of the Fair and its properties and to have its importance as a community gathering place strengthened through my participation as a member of the Board of Directors.
