ALASKA STATE FAIR
BEARD CONTEST

This is a contest for those men who cherish their facial hair no matter how long or short.

Compete to win cash prizes and ribbons in one of 4 categories.

 Location/Date Time Registration

Heineken Stage at the Woodlot

Sunday, September 4th

 2 –3 pm Registration 30 min. prior to event. Limited to first 20 in each category.

The 4 Categories:

  1. Soup Strainer (moustache only)
  2. Urban Alaskan (groomed beard, goatee, chin curtain, etc..)
  3. Homesteader Beard (full beard with or without moustache)
  4. Colonist Beard (full beard with at least 50% shades of gray or white).
  5. Best overall wins the Mr. Sourdough award!
