tatic Cycle, Alaska’s own modern rock band, combines cutting-edge riffs and creative lyrics to create an innovative, gripping style that’s been likened to Chevelle, Foo Fighters and 3 Doors Down.
The band debuted their first album, “When We Meet Again,” in June 2008. That album, which was produced and engineered by Mike Brown (Papa Roach, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Garbage), lit a wildfire of fan interest that has swept across Alaska and beyond. Static Cycle’s hit single, “Pressure,” continues to ride the radio airwaves all across the U.S. and is a constant request for looping playlists. The band was in the studio this spring finishing up their much-anticipated follow-up album.
The band is the culmination of five talented and diverse musicians, including lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Jared Navarre, who has performed professionally for more than 15 years and won the rock category in the 2004 Alaska Song of the Year contest; lead guitarist Josh Witham, formerly of the cult phenomenon Grain; drummer Dennis Smith, who has played everything from heavy metal to blues licks for many of Alaska’s most successful bands; accomplished bassist and local Alaskan John Rheaume; and rhythm guitarist/back-up vocalist Travis Hulse, a native of Lincoln, Neb. and Static Cycle’s newest addition.
