Nicotiana ‘Perfume Deep Purple’
You’ve seen them, Nicotiana – or flowering tobacco – planted all over the Fairgrounds as well as the Municipality of Anchorage. A staple annual for us, this genus now has a new color for us to play with – a wonderful deep plum purple! Besides being a great new color, outside of the pink, red, white and yellow range, this Nicotiana seems to take a little less work as far as deadheading goes. It also holds up well to the rain without the petals getting soggy or rain splotched – you can’t ask for much more than that!
It looks great with the deep gold of Coreopsis g. ‘Sunrise’ or the magenta of Dianthus ‘Supra Purple’. It was also an All America Selection winner in 2006. Give it a try; we think you will be pleased. |
