It’s hard to tell what’s more impressive – that ventriloquist, singer and celebrity impressionist Terry Fator sounds exactly like Natalie Cole and James Blunt, or that it looks like his puppets are doing the singing! With skills like these, it’s no wonder Fator won over the judges and fans to take home the million dollar prize in NBC’s 2007 show, “America’s Got Talent.”
Since then, Fator’s career has exploded. The Dallas, Texas native has been headlining sold-out shows nationwide, and recently signed a multi-million dollar contract with the Las Vegas Hilton to perform through 2008. He also recently performed on the Oprah Winfrey Show, where fellow guest and notorious “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell exclaimed Fator was one of the best entertainers in the world!
Fator, who discovered his knack for mimicking voices at the age of 6 and began learning ventriloquism at 10, is perhaps the first entertainer to combine the art of ventriloquism with celebrity impressions.
Using his cast of seven original puppet characters, Fator effortlessly performs the voices of diverse stars such as Tony Bennett, Elvis, Maroon Five, Garth Brooks, Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Roy Orbison, Marvin Gaye, Gnarls Barkley, James Blunt, Brooks & Dunn, Louis Armstrong and even Kermit the Frog.
