Press ReleasesAlaska State Fair 2008 Summaries: Alaska’s Got Talent You think “America’s Got Talent”? Wait until you see “Alaska’s Got Talent,” an exciting, live, talent competition at the 2008 Fair. Patterned after the popular NBC TV show, this event will feature a wide range of performances by talented Alaskans, and the winner will be selected by a panel of three local celebrity judges! Marcus at the Movies, Cheryl Metiva and Justin McDonald will decide who makes it to the finals. Last, but not least, the Master of Ceremonies will be Matt Hammer! The event will be held on Wednesday, August 27 at 9 p.m. at the Fair’s Borealis Plaza, directly following the AT&T Concert Series performance by Terry Fator, who took home the million dollar prize in NBC’s 2007 show, “America’s Got Talent.” Open Auditions will be held on Sunday, August 24th at 1:00 pm, and 10 – 12 finalists will be selected to perform in the finals at the Fair on Wednesday, August 27th. All forms of entertainment, including musical performances, are welcomed.
